Cable Rates on the Rise in Michigan for 2008

Cable rates are about to increase for some residents of Macomb County Michigan. According to the Macomb Daily, Wide Open West and Comcast recently announced rate increases that go into effect this month. WOW will increase its basic cable rate 6%, from $45.99 to $48.75, while Comcast will increase the monthly rate for its "preferred basic" cable service from $46.49 to $49.49, a 6.5 percent hike. DIRECTV beats Comcast
I picked DirecTV because everyone said the quality was better than cable (which it is). I hate Comcast. They were always raising their fees. The bundle they offered intrigued me, until I did a little research and found out what I would actually pay. No thanks! DirecTV has a better price and better picture quality. And Verizon DSL for phone and internet is a better deal too. Easy descision once you know the facts.
