DIRECTV and Dish Network get concessions from FCC
DIRECTV and Dish Network combined to serve more than 30 million subscribers have got a major concession from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on the delivery of local TV signals in HD. Both the providers have entered a deal with FCC last September, which was better than the rules imposed on Cable Industry. Now FCC has decided to give time until 2013 to carry all stations in high-definition, where the providers carry station signal.
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) are not e convinced with this as they were battling with FCC, earlier NAB had sent a letter to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) expressing their concern about the delivery of local channels in all the markets and also FCC to insist DIRECTV to deliver local TV service in all the 210 markets by end of 2008.
