FX and NBC Universal entered a deal to broadcast mostly all of Universal Pictures’ 2008 movie slate to the cable network. This deal will give FX the cable rights for 15 movies like "The Mummy-Tomb of the Dragon Emperor", Hellboy IL-The Golden Army, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Express" and the deal is estimated to be about $100 million.
"This deal is a tremendous vote of confidence in Universal Pictures. It has been a long time since we have seen a presale of this magnitude,” Universal Pictures vice chairman Rick Finkelstein said in a statement. “We look forward to working with FX, a leading basic-cable network. We couldn't be more pleased."
