Hannah Storm to co-anchor ESPN's Sportscenter
ESPN will broadcast from Aug. 11 a new live nine-hour ESPN flagship program Sportscenter to be co-anchored by Hannah Storm. ESPN's
upfront presentation on Tuesday made a formal announcement of Hannah Storm joining the network. Hannah Storm is an experienced
sportscaster and she was the first female sports anchor at CNN in 1989 before moving to NBC Sports in 1992. ESPN expects to draw huge
viewership for the live program and also in turn a huge new ad revenue stream for the network. Norby Williamson, executive VP, production
for ESPN said "These live SportsCenters will answer fans' call for greater immediacy and interactivity, Going live
will allow us to put a fresh perspective on the previous night's games and cover breaking news during the day, all within the traditional SportsCenter approach, which
focuses on highlights, scores and news."
