Pop Star Justin Timberlake to produce MTV reality show 'The Phone'

MTV Networks’ has announced during upfront presentation on May 8 that it will air a new reality game show called "The Phone" to be executive-produced by Grammy award -winner pop star Justin Timberlake. The Phone is a reality game show based on a Dutch reality show format in which two contestants will join forces and hit the ground running for a chance to win a big cash prize. Fremantle Media North America will produce the show and will begin in the US in the autumn.
“Genre-busting and reinvention is at the core of what we do, and The Phone does just that,” said MTV executive vice president, programming and series development Tony Disanto in a statement. “We’re turning the reality competition format on its head and plunging the contestants into a real-life Bourne Identity -- not just in the tone and creative, but also in terms of the visual style and pacing. Each week will be an action-packed mini-movie. This is Popcorn TV!”
