Viacom and two Hollywood studios launching a New HD channel

A new television channel will be launched to compete with Showtime and HBO. The channel will be a joint venture between two Hollywood studios and Viacom and the channel will be aired in 2009 and will be in both standard and high-definition version. MGM and Lionsgate are already partnered with Viacom and the roll out of the new channel with includes movies and original programming. With the new channel getting launched it’s not sure if the MGM's high-definition channel MGM HD will any way get affected.
