With cable companies now providing internet and phone service many cable customers chose to bundle all these services together wiht the hopes of saving a few dollars. For cable subscribers in Massachusetts who bundle their services with RCN Corp. that was not to be the case. These customers were also hit with a rate hike when the company increased their rate for cable by $2.99 last November. Even after a spokesman for RCN Corp. originally stated that customers who bundle their services would not be affected.
All cable customers, whether they subscribed to one service or more were impacted. The irony is that people bundle their services together so they can save money not pay out more as was the case here.
