Calling all you fans of the Food Network Challenges. The food network has raised their challenges to a whole new level. On Sunday Feb. 17, the network will be airing in primetime a new series called the Ultimate Recipe Showdown hosted by Marc Summers and Guy Fieri(one of my favorite food network stars). In this series the food network is looking for the ultimate recipes from amateur cooks across the country in the following categories:chicken,burgers,pasta, comfort foods, cakes and cookies.
After conducting a nationwide search and tasting thousands of recipes the judges and tasters at the food network were able to narrow down the entrants and their recipes to just nine per category/episode. The contestants will each prepare his or her meal on stage in front of a live audience at the foodnetwork kitchen.
The winner of the showdown will walk away with a check for $25,000. In additon to the cash and bragging rights the winner will also have the chance to have his or her recipe featured at T.G.I. Fridays nationwide.
