Dish Network brings you Versus

While some cable and satellite companies like Directv dropped one of Americas favorite action channels Versus, Dish Network kept the hit network in their lineup. Thanks to Dish Network being able to put customers first they were able to put a good deal in place to keep the channel, unlike Directv who main concern seems to be the financial gain of the board of directors.

By keeping Versus, Dish Network allows customers to keep watching all of their favorite programming. Besides the NHL Center Ice, and regional sports networks, Versus channel carries the most NHL games per year. Versus is also home to the Tour de France, Hunting and Fishing, Indy Car Series, many top ranked college football games, and live PBR and WEC events.

Although Versus gave Directv the same option as every other cable provider to carry the channel. Directv wanted to put versus in a higher package so that their customers would have to pay more to get the network. By doing so it meant that the 6 million Directv customers that had Versus already included in their lower package would have to increase their package to continue watching their favorite shows.

While Directv keeps over charging loyal customers for less programming, Dish Network continues to bring Versus to loyal customers without any price increase.

DIRECTV Takes IndyCar Series to High-Def

NASCAR even more stunning in HD!

The NASCAR HotPass is a subscription package available only on Satellite TV. You can’t get this extensive coverage of NASCAR anywhere else. Satellite TV focuses on select drivers, honing in on their stories and performances while still providing a broad overview of the races. Other networks tend to just give a larger picture of the events, but Satellite TV gives an unbelievably close view of the sport, through winding, screeching turns and incredible speeds of over 200 mph. Every week, 28 dedicated cameras follow four top drivers in every race, each with his own channel and team of announcers. Plus, there are two overhead corner cameras providing you with feedback about the drivers’ turns 1 and 3. In addition, a pit box overhead camera and a pit crew shoulder camera give you unique behind-the-scenes access. Did you see Kevin Harvick’s magnificent NASCAR victory in 2007? On February 17, 2008, the 50th running of the Daytona 500 will be upon us. The difference is that this year the NASCAR HotPass will be broadcast in HD. Subscribers who have HD Access ($9.99/month) and HD equipment will see every one of the 36 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in stunning, razor-sharp clarity. Satellite TV’s committment to HD programming and to sports programming has made this possible. NASCAR is such a popular sport that it deserves the unprecedented image quality that HD offers - life-like with crisp imagery and the most fluid motion. The NASCAR HotPass experience is not like being 50 rows up at the race itself. It’s like having a front-row seat! The interactive features redefine television technology and make for an unforgettable experience. If the NASCAR races have always been on your list of must-see events, Satellite TV’s NASCAR HotPass is essential. An add-on sports, package, it is well worth the subscription. Get ready for the ride of your life!
