Unsatisfied Dishnetwork customer ( recently ex-customer)
I had been with Dishnet for nearly 14 years. I have only one receiver. I recently asked about getting another receiver since Dishnet and Direct offer 4 room receivers for free to new customers. I only wanted another receiver so I could watch something different than the kids wanted to watch. I was told that I could not get one without $100 plus shipping because I wasn't a new customer. I didn't ask for anything special from them. I was told how expensive the units were and how they couldn't just give me another unit. When I said I'd go somewhere else and get a 4 room system for free, Dishnet just asked when I wanted to cancell my account. Dishnet was more than willing to let a 14 year 85.00 per month customer walk. SEE YA Dishnet. I will be speading the word about your LACK of customer service and loyalty.

I have switched from cable
I have switched from cable to Dish Network, when the tech got here, he could not find the splicer that the cable company had put in the laundry room at first , we finally found that then he had trouble getting the dish to receive correctly so in total he was here from around noon till almost 4 p.m. before the satellite dish was working correctly.
Then he absolutely refused to hook my surround sound and dvd player up the same way that I had it hooked up for the cable company. I finally persuaded him to hook up the surround sound but he was getting phone calls from his girlfriend wanting him to come home that he hooked it up fast and was gone, telling me that I would have to figure out how to hook up the dvd player.
With cable it was simple but every way I've tried to hook this thing up will not work. I called the Dish Network and told them that the tech had refused to hook up my components the way that I had them and Dish Network, at least 3 of their phone employees have told me that the tech should have not left without hookin them up and they said that they would send another tech to help me hook up everything this weekend.
Another tech from the Dish Network called me this morning telling me the same thing, the original tech should have hooked them up and that he will be happy to hook them up at no charge this weekend.
Meanwhile the original tech calls me on the phone wanting to know why I called the satellite company , still telling me that he wasn't authorized to hook up components, yet he had mentioned coming back on his own time for a "small fee" and hooking up my components.
I'm totally confused and not happy about having to spend another Saturday waiting for my television to be correctly hooked up to everything.
Has anyone out there had similar problems? Is there a special way to hook up the surround sound and dvd player to the satellite system? I havn't been able to get any of my components to work since the guy left and I'm disappointed, and I hate the idea of having to go back to Comcast. Thanks for reading , Barry

I have Dish Network and I was out of town and my service was
turned off. I called in and paid the full bill at 7:30 p.m.
and I had to wait until the next day to get service. Dish Network remotes do not work well, I have to get out of bed and stand by the TV to change channels, I hate I switched over. I had
Direct TV before changing to Dish Network. I plan to return
to Direct TV because their services were great. I could call at
midnight and my service was turned back on in minutes. If you have Direct TV keep it.

Cable. What's that? I have been a directv customer for a little over a year now and I couldn't be happier. I've got great programming, a lot of HD channels and most important of all, at least in my opinion is great customer support. So thanks directv. Because of you cable is just a fading memory.
