I have had a DVR for serval years and love it. Does anyone know how to load a recorded show onto a laptop or a PC?

Scheduling DVR Recording. I just viewed the DirectTV Schedule via my PC across the Web. Great! I want to select a show to record from my PC, but wasn't able to figure it out. I have manually recorded many times, but physically going thru the schedule on the Web seems better than going thru the schedule on-screen.
What did I miss? My PC wasn't connected to the DVR.
Second. Once I record a show, is there any way to view the show on my PC? Direct connect via S-video or USB, or an IP address on the DVR? Thanks

There is a lot of talk on this website about HD and Local Channels. I am currently a customer of another Sattelite Provider and would like to know if DirectTV cffers their Local programming in HD through its reciever. Currently I am able to get locals at an additional charge but they are not broadcast in HD through the reciever. Their only solution is to add an off air antenna. I did this however I can only recieve 2 of the 7 or 8 locals that are out there. Connecting the same antenna directly to the TV I get all local HD broadcasts. The issue is I cant use the recievers guide nor the DVR function with that setup. Is Direct TV better?

You most certainly can watch
You most certainly can watch a recorded show while recording two live shows. That's the purpose of the DUAL TUNER. The much older models do not have the dual tuner feature. If your receiver was installed properly by a technician, you should be able to go into your recorded programs and watch one while the dvr records two "live" shows. If you did a self-install, then you may not have installed the TWO lines that are necessary for this function. If it was professionally installed, and you still cannot use this feature, then you may have a defective receiver. You should call DIRECTV technical support to find out.

You can do that by setting one show to record (using the guide) and simply tuning into the channel you want to watch. You can watch/record any combination of 2 channels, for instance: you can record 1 channel, and watch another OR record 2 channels. You cannot record two shows and watch another all at the same time.

I have had DIRECTV DVR for almost 2 years, and it is the best move I have ever made. I also have two OTHER recievers at home, in each bedroom. It is FANTASTIC. I would recommend DIRECTV to anyone, and several people have ordered DIRECTV because I told them how great it was.
DVR IS THE GREATEST THING
DVR IS THE GREATEST THING INVENTED EVER. I AM A BUSY PERSON BETWEEN WORK AND RAISING A FAMILY. ITS VERY HARD TO KEEP UP WITH WHATS ON TV. NOW THAT I OWN A DVR I DONT FEEL LEFT OUT THE CIRCLE.
NORMALLY CONVERSATIONS OF SPECIFIC PROGRAMING WILL COME UP AND I NEVER HAD A CLUE AS TO WHAT WAS BEIN DISCUSSED. I JUST DONT HAVE TIME TO BE HOME
