Yes, you can watch one show live and record another with the dual tuner. You can also record two live shows while watching a recorded show.

What comes in the box with the HD DVR? Does it have the HDMI cables?

The HD-DVR comes with all necessary cables, including HDMI, Component and RCA cables. It also comes with a phone cord, 2 B-band converters, remote control and batteries. Hope this answers your question. Thanks

Hi there, The Big Ten Network recently moved to channel number 610. If you subscribe to DIRECTV's Choice Package (or higher), then you should receive the Big Ten Network.
